Meryl Streep is The Iron Lady; "How I Met Your Mother" actress in The Avengers; The Hobbit starts shooting in March; Kristen Stewart as Snow White?;

• The first image of Meryl Streep as the legendary British Primer Minister Margaret Thatcher was release a couple of hours ago.
  

  

  The movie is called The Iron Lady and it is directed by Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!) and it also stars Jim Broadbent (Iris) and Roger Allam (The Queen). It may hopefully be the role that will give the third and really well-deserved Oscar to Meryl Streep!
  
• Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother TV series) was chosen for the role of the S.H.I.E.L.D. executive director Maria Hill in The Avengers, intended as a sidekick of sorts for Nick Fury and it seems that her contract with Marvel include nine movies about the Marvel Universe.
  This way, Smulders joins the impressive cast composed by Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye) and Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson). The movie will be directed by Joss Whedon, who also wrote the screenplay, and it will be released in May 2012.
  
• There are good news about The Hobbit movies: The One Ring reports that 21st March 2011 “has been chosen following practical considerations of the filming schedule requirements, actor availability and the NZ seasons. Shooting will take place at Stone Street Studios in Miramar and on location around New Zealand".
  Remember that the project will be directed by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and it will star Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Andy Serkis, Ian Mckellen, Saoirse Ronan, Orlando Bloom, Christopher Lee and David Tennant.
  The Hobbit: Part I will be released in December 2012 while The Hobbit: Part II will be released in December 2013.
  
• According to Collider "Kristen Stewart is apparently now in negotiations to star in the film as Snow White herself. She would join previously announced Viggo Mortensen (in talks to play the Huntsman) and Charlize Theron (in talks to play the Evil Queen) in the project for Universal. Last week, we reported that Stewart was being courted for the role, and now THR reports that she’s currently in negotiations to star in the film, with both parties involved wanting it to happen."
  Well... it seems... you know... strange. It was strange seeing Alice In Wonderland not being Alice In Wonderland in a movie that was awful in the way that it could be something great, but it wasn't. Now, Snow White and the Huntsman? Well, I don't know if I'm ready to see this, but it has Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises) and Charlize Theron (Monster) (Theron leaved Clint Eastwood's Edgar J. Hoover biopic in order to make this one) so, I can give this project the benefit of doubt from me in spite of thinking that Kristen Stewart isn't a good choice (she can be really boring when she's not doing The Runaways).
