George Lucas recently visited the set of Lucasfilm's first live-action Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian, and took a photo with the series' executive producer, Jon Favreau - and it seems they have revealed one of the show's cantinas in the background. In late 2019, Disney plans on launching their own streaming service, which is reportedly titled Disney Play, that will house their extensive library of movies and TV shows, while also being home to plenty of future animated and live-action properties.
One of those properties happens to be The Mandalorian - the latest production from Lucasfilm that follows a "lone gunfighter" in the outer rim of the Star Wars galaxy and is set between the events of the original and sequel movie trilogies. While The Mandalorian only recently began filming, Lucasfilm has already shared the first look at the Star Wars show's eponymous Mandalorian character. That's in addition to various set photos showing off Stormtroopers, old weapons, more. And now, audiences have yet a new set photo to peruse through, but this time with a few people in it.

Today is Jon Favreau's birthday, and it looks like George Lucas made a special trip to visit The Mandalorian's set to give him his best wishes. Furthermore, it seems Lucas gave Favreau a bottle of 2014 Skywalker Pinot Noir from Skywalker Vineyards. Lucas even uses his camera's flashlight to showcase the bottle in the photo. But what's most interesting about this image is that it appears to be the first glimpse at The Mandalorian's cantina - or, at least, one of them. Take a look:
It's worth noting that Lucas also visited the set of Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story (in which he provided advice for a specific scene between Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo and Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra aboard the Millennium Falcon). Interestingly, he also visited the set of Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, according to production designer Rick Heinrichs, but it's unclear if he ever journeyed out to the set of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's possible since that was the first movie in Disney's new Star Wars series that they would want to distance themselves from the franchise's creator. But at least he had a chance to attend the world premiere for that movie.
With regards to The Mandalorian, though, it's unknown what Lucas and Favreau discussed or what advice the Star Wars architect had to share with the filmmaker, if anything at all. But, based on what's briefly seen in this new photo, it seems the TV show's production design isn't straying far from what Lucas' original trilogy set up. And, of course, a Star Wars property, whether it be a movie or TV show, isn't truly complete without at least one cantina sequence.
