Stila Eyes are the Windows Palette Soul

Everybody knows I love my neutrals. When I saw the Stila Eyes are the Windows palette in Soul I fell madly in love and picked it up in a heartbeat despite the mixed reviews.

This eyeshadow palette includes a variety of 12 neutral shades. These shadows can be used wet or dry and are packaged in a luxe case with a magnetic enclosure.

The majority of the shades have highly-intense pigments. The texture of these are firm, but soft and silky and it's consistency is thin and dry with a couple of the shades being a little bit on the sheer side, but can be built up to desired opacity. For richer, highly intense colours, I suggest using these over an eyeshadow primer or with a few spritz of water. I don't recommend using the matte shades wet, as it make them way too difficult to blend, but the rest of the other shades transforms to a more frosty, metallic finish with a ridiculously high-shine.

Light is a yellow-beige with a matte finish. This shade is perfect as a base or brow bone highlight. The texture of this shade is buttery and smooth and blends beautifully with good colour pay off.

Individual is a earthy medium-brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. This is a gorgeous crease shade. It goes on sheer but is quite opaque when used wet. This is blends like a dream and is one of my favourite shades.

Being is a darker brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. This one has great colour pay off and can be used to contour/deepen the crease or outer V. I also use this as a brow powder and to line my eyes with a push liner when doing soft smokey eyes. The consistency of this shade is a little more powdery than the rest, but it blended exceptionally well once I tapped off the excess.

Kitten is a frosty champagne shade which has a metallic finish when applied wet. It is semi-sheer with a high-intensity shine. This is great as a centre-lid highlight or for highlighting the tear duct area.

Affection is a semi-opaque earthy medium bronze with a soft lustre finish. This has a thin, silky texture with buildable intensity and a very subtle sheen

Character is a warm tone dark brown with micro shimmers. This shade applies very sheer and took a lot of effort to build up the opacity. This is one of the most difficult shades to work with both wet and dry.

Thought is a warm toned bronze with great pigmentation. The texture of this is smooth and silky with a gorgeous soft-iridescent sheen. The colour pay off from this shade is great when used both wet and dry.

Heart is a very sheer muted taupe with warm undertones. I absolutely love this for a soft crease colour. This is shade is very sheer, but forgivable since it's so beautiful and blendable. I actually love that this is so soft and sheer because it makes a beautiful transition/crease shade.

Peace is a medium copper-bronze with slightly burnished red undertones. The finish of this shade is similar to Thought and Affection, it has a gorgeous lowlight sheen great for bronze smokey eyes.

Vitality is more of a warm toned gold with micro shimmers. This is a very frosted finish similar to kitten. This has great colour pay off when used both wet or dry. It has a semi-opaque metallic finish and is beautiful as a lid or inner corner highlight.

Substance is a warm toned iridescent taupe with a silvery frosted finish. This shadow is dry and semi-opaque, but when used with a damp brush, this becomes a more intense and fully opaque colour with a slight metallic sheen.

Essence is a basic black with a bit of a matte-satin finish. The texture of this is soft and buttery but is semi-opaque and a little on the powdery side. This does, however, blends well with the other shades but for a more pigmented and opaque colour I recommend patting this over the lid with clean fingers. This did not have a fall out issue and is good for deepening the crease or outer V for a soft or heavy smokey eye look.
