As I mentioned in my June Favourites, July was a good month for me. Not only did I finish my 120 hours I was required to do for my course, I also had my 20th birthday. I'm one of those people that loves birthdays, regardless of whose they are, but there's always something super exciting about celebrating your own birthday. This month I decided to take photos of the things I was loving. I'm not sure why, but I did.
- MAC Select Cover Up Concealer in NC20 and NW20 - I don't know if I could call this a holy grail product, but I quite like it. Having two different colours means I'm able to customise to suit different parts of my face, which I really like.
- NARS Sheer Glow foundation in Mont Blanc and MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC20 - Although I prefer my NARS Sheer Glow foundation, it's too light for me so I've been mixing it with just under an equal part of MAC Studio Fix Fluid to make it a bit darker. I'm sure I'll purchase a darker shade eventually, I just struggle to find a perfect colour match. For a full review of NARS Sheer Glow foundation, click here.
- MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC20 - I really like this powder. I use it on a fluffy brush to set my foundation, as well as to touch up throughout the day.
- MAC Powder Blush in Well Dressed - Although I'm not sure I've found the best way to apply it yet (it may be more of a summer blush), I really like the way this product looks, especially when applied on top of the next product.
- MAC Casual Colour in Keep It Loose - This product was bought on my birthday weekend and I absolutely love it. It's the perfect flush of pink.
- Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - For me, this product needs no explanation. I think it has featured in almost every one of my monthly favourites. For a full review, click here.
- Inglot Freedom Palette - My friend, Amy, gave me this palette for my birthday and I love it. Although I haven't experimented with it as much as I could have (I've hardly worn any make up in the last few weeks, as I've been on holidays and super lazy), I love everything I'm able to create with it. For swatches of the shadows, as well as colour numbers, click here.
- MAC matte eyeshadow in Wedge - I've started filling in my brows lately, and I've found that this is a perfect crease and eyebrow colour
- MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study - This champagne and gold/white pearl eyeshadow Paint Pot acts as the perfect base for almost all eye looks. Although it's shimmery, it's not overpowering. This also works well by itself on lazy days with mascara.
- Max Factor Lash Extension Effect mascara - If you've been following my blog for a while now you'll know this is my all time favourite mascara. For a full review, click here. Unfortunately this mascara has been discontinued, however I stocked up before they were taken off the shelf.
- Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in black/brown - I absolutely love this product. It sounds like a gimic, I know, but the results it provides are amazing. For a full review, click here.
- Essence in #53 All About Cupcake lipstick - I've been really enjoying using this lipstick lately. This lipstick is a natural pink colour, which comes across as a 'your lips but better' colour with a little extra oomph. The pigmentation of this colour isn't great, but it's perfect for work.
- Maybelline Baby Lips Anti-Oxidant Berry - This is one of my favourite lip balms of all time. I'm halfway through my fifth or sixth tube of this product and I just really like it.
- MAC Creme Cup lipstick - This is another product that I bought on my birthday weekend. I honestly thought it would be one of those overhyped beauty products that I wouldn't get much use out of, but it's an amazing nude lip colour.
- NARS Pure Matte Lipstick - This soft rose matte lipstick is another perfect neutral lip colour. I use this on days where I feel that I need more colour than a nude lipstick would provide.
- Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy - This is one of my most used perfumes this month. It's just absolutely beautiful.
- Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift - When I wasn't using my Viva La Juicy perfume in July, I was smelling like Taylor Swift. This is another beautiful perfume.
This month I've been trying to become more creative with my nails and get away from neutrals and blacks. It doesn't sound difficult but, when you've never been one for bright nails, it is! With this in mind, there is a couple of nail polishes I've been loving.
- Maybelline mini Colorama Nail Colour in Urban Turquiose
- Essie California Coral
- Kit Cosmetics Futuristic Fever nail kit (stay tuned for a haul)
When I start to grow my nails out (they're still recovering from the acrylics I had on for my sister's wedding), I will attempt to do Nail of the Day posts!
So, everyone, that's what I've been loving this month! Sorry this post was so long. For someone who said they didn't wear much make up this month, I sure loved a lot of it! With that in mind, what have you been loving this month? Also, do you like the photos with these favourites posts or would you prefer theme without? It's up to you! Oh! Also (again), please comment below if you can recommend some great bright nail colours!
Always look your best,
Sophie
