| Frozen actor Jonathan Groff cast in The Matrix 4 - Yahoo Entertainment Posted: 09 Dec 2019 03:05 PM PST View photos Frozen actor Jonathan Groff cast in The Matrix 4 Frozen 2 actor Jonathan Groff is about to go into the unknown: the mysterious fourth film in The Matrix franchise. Groff (who voices Kristoff in Disney's hit animated movies) has been cast in a role that is as-yet-unrevealed. But let's face it: The clean-cut actor seems pretty perfect to play a young agent of the Matrix — especially given his role as an FBI agent in Netflix's Mindhunter. Collider first reported the news. View photos NIKLAS HALLE'N/AFP via Getty Images The Matrix 4 (for lack of an official name) stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity. Aquaman and Watchmen actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has signed on as well. ("It's a very exciting, relevant script that I'm honored to be a part of," Abdul-Mateen told EW this weekend while discussing Watchmen.) Jada Pinkett Smith returns as Niobe, and Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris are also in the cast. Lana Wachowski returns as director and is co-writing the script with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. The new movie revives the franchise after a 16-year slumber. The previous trilogy launched with The Matrix in 1999, then followed with sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. Collectively, the films have earned more than $1.6 billion at the global box office. Related content: |
| Posted: 10 Dec 2019 06:00 AM PST Netflix is going to get high high high with its adaptation of "High in the Clouds," a children's book written by Paul McCartney, Netflix announced Tuesday. Netflix is producing an animated feature film based on McCartney's book "High in the Clouds" first published in 2005. Netflix will produce along with Gaumont, which originally optioned the book back in 2017. Timothy Reckart ("Head Over Heels," "The Star") is directing from a screenplay by Jon Croker, who wrote both of the "Paddington" films. McCartney himself will also produce and provide original songs and music for the movie. Also Read: Watch Rihanna and Paul McCartney's 'How Are You on My Flight?' "We are thrilled to be partnering with Netflix. They complement what is already an amazing team with Gaumont and we can think of no-one better to be working with to bring our film to a global audience. I've always loved animated films and this is a hugely important passion project for me. I can't wait for the world to see it," McCartney said in a statement. McCartney wrote "High in the Clouds" along with Geoff Dunbar and Philip Ardagh. Bob Shaye, the late Michael Lynne, McCartney, Sidonie Dumas, Christophe Riandee and Nicolas Atlan are all listed as producers. Terry Kalagian will also produce for Gaumont.
